Premier’s Sustainability Awards 2016 People’s Choice Competition

1. Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions apply to any person (a Participant) who enters the Premier’s Sustainability Awards People’s Choice competition (Competition) on the Premier’s Sustainability Awards website (Website). The Competition is administered by Sustainability Victoria (SV).

By entering the Competition, Participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2. About the Premier’s Sustainability Awards 2016 (PSAs) and the People’s Choice

The PSAs 2016 comprise the following ten (10) categories:

– Built Environment

– Community

– Education

– Environmental Justice

– Environmental Protection

– Government

– Health

– Innovative Products or Services

– Large Business

– Small and Medium Enterprises

The Competition provides the public with an opportunity to have their say on their favourite of the PSAs finalists. Participants vote by selecting their favourite finalist from the drop down on the page for each award category. The winner of the People’s Choice award in each category is the finalist with the most votes from Participants.

The results of the Competition have no influence on the process undertaken to determine the official winners of the PSAs.

3. Eligibility and Prizes

3.1       Participants who are:

a)          over the age of 18 years old;
b)         provide their legitimate first name, last name, email address and mobile number; and
c)          vote for the category finalist who receives the most votes on the Website;

will go into the draw to win one of ten $500 Visa gift card (Prize). The total prize pool is up to $5,000.

3.2       Each Participant may submit one entry per category.

4. Key Dates

4.1       Entries are open from Wednesday 21 September 2016 and close at 5pm on Friday 30 September 2016. Any entries received after that date and time will not be eligible.

4.2       Prize winners are selected via a random draw of eligible Participants held at Level 28, 50 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne 3000 on Wednesday 5 October 2016.

5. Notification of Competition Outcome

5.1       Prize winners will be notified of the outcome of the Competition by email and will be requested to provide their contact details for delivery of the Prize. The names of the Prize winners will also be published on the Website.

5.2       In the event that a Prize winner does not provide their contact details to SV within 14 days of receiving an email from SV notifying them of the outcome of the Competition and requesting them to provide such details:

a)         that Prize winner will lose his or her right to claim the Prize; and

b)         the Prize will be will be redrawn and that original Prize winner’s Prize will be transferred to the winner of the next draw.

6. General Rules for the Competition

6.1       Prizes are not transferable, negotiable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash. SV takes no responsibility for any variation in the value of the Prize or for Prizes that are damaged or lost in transit.

6.2       SV has sole discretion to determine the eligibility of entries and to award Prizes. In the event of a dispute, the decision of SV is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Failure by SV to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

6.3       SV will own the intellectual property rights in all Competition entries. SV may publish the name of Prize winners on the Website after the Competition has closed.

6.4       If a Prize winner does not accept any element of a Prize, SV is not obliged to provide that winner with a substitute prize.

6.5       Employees of SV and their immediate families and contractors of SV associated with the PSAs are not eligible to enter the Competition.

6.6       An entry will be deemed ineligible if the email address provided in respect of that entry is not the correct email address of the Participant.

6.7       SV will have no responsibility for the Prizes after they have been dispatched to the Prize winner. Prizes will be subject to terms and conditions, if any, of the manufacturer, provider or donor.

6.8       Unless otherwise required by law, any personal information provided by Participants in connection with the Competition including Participant names, ages, images or contact details will be used by SV for the purposes of the Competition and in accordance with these terms and conditions and SV’s Privacy Statement.

7. Disclaimer

7.1       SV will not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained, including as a result of negligence, in connection with the conduct of the Competition or the redemption or use of any Prize except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. SV accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from winning a Prize.

7.2       If the Competition is interfered with in any way, is unable to be conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of SV or if it is fair and reasonable to do so or where SV is required or directed to so by the Victorian Government, SV reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law, to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
