QMF's War on Waste

Finalist in the Premier's Sustainability Awards 2020 – Environmental Volunteering category

The Bellarine Catchment Network – a not for profit group that includes over thirty community and land management groups – has a long-term partnership with the Queenscliff Music Festival. They provided invaluable expertise and a conduit to local environmental and community groups who worked together to develop a range of sustainability initiatives for the three-day event.

2019 saw an 86% increase in the number of community volunteers. The festival went ‘fully reusable’ for all vendors and the 24,000 attendees, with only 178kg of waste sent to landfill over three days.
